United Nations office of drugs & crime: safe handling & disposal promo

When it comes to the global drugs crisis, busting the bad guys is only the start…

Unfortunately, many of the world’s governments, agencies and decision makers don’t know the best way to handle or dispose of illegal drugs and precursors once they’ve been seized. This lack of solutions can lead to catastrophic effects as highly toxic and volatile substances are ‘got rid of’ in rivers, inadvertently stored in explosive conditions or find their way back into the illegal market.

Luckily the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes have the science, knowledge and tools needed to help with safe handling and disposal. And they asked us to make a short animation to promote these services. Created with a team of just 3 (producer, motion graphics designer and me) the promo tells the story of one seized barrel of chemicals and the potential negative outcomes when things aren’t handled or disposed of properly – versus getting the support and expertise of Team UNODC.
