Girls Not Brides (GNB) is an incredible global network of over 1,600 civil society organisations from 100+ countries who are committed to ending child marriage and ensuring that girls are free to reach their full potential in all aspects of their lives.

GNB’s digital long-form articles (DLFs) are a key part of raising awareness about the dangers of child marriage and how it negatively impacts girls’ lives – while also showing how they can become powerful agents of change in their own lives and communities.

I collaborated with GNB on two DLFs that tell the stories of young women and girls in Nepal and Malawi. Using existing interviews and the team’s expert knowledge, I created two articles that ensured the girls’ and young women’s voices drove the narrative and showed how they have taken charge of their futures and helped inspire progress.

But this isn’t just about saying ‘no’– it’s about girls showing that there are better options and outcomes for the whole family if they don’t become brides at a young age.
